Seto is known for having exceptional skills in playing the game of Duel Monsters strategically, which for a while earned him the title as the number one duelist until Yuugi Motou came into the picture and claimed that very title. He's also quite intelligent as he is able to be one step ahead of his enemies (although sometimes they do catch him off guard), and use their weaknesses against them. He applies his intelligence to not only dueling but running the Kaiba Corporation as well. For he knows that there are a lot of people out there that have grudges against the company as well as him. So whenever there is a problem, he immediately knows how to take care of it without allowing his emotions to get in the way. The only time when that happens is when his younger brother Mokuba's life is in danger. If that is the case, the he often vows to make that person pay for threatening his family, seeing as how Mokuba IS the only family he feels that he has.

It is obvious to many that Mokuba is Seto's main weaknesses in getting him to yield and do what someone demands. At least until he gets his brother back that is. Having done some rather reckless things to insure his and Mokuba's well being which have often times driven wedges between them on numerous occasions. Mainly because Mokuba is so adamant on making friends with those he feel are his enemy or rival, Yuugi and his friends being a prime example of that. Seto doesn't believe in what he calls 'nonsense' like making friends because he thinks that it's a waste of time and they'll do nothing but hold him back from trying to obtain his goals. He is rather arrogant and self-center, showing no interest whatsoever in others besides himself and his brother. This causes him to have trouble socializing with certain people who are generally trying to be nice to him, Ami being a prime example of that. And he won't admit it, but he does regret some of the things that he has done that have caused nothing but pain and suffering to them. Seto mainly regrets falling in love since it just caused one big mess but lately he has managed to put what little feelings he had for anyone aside in order to focus his attention on his company and Mokuba.

Appearance[]

Seto is 6'2 with brown hair and dark blue eyes. His usual outfit consists of a long white sleeveless Kaiba Corp designed coat featuring shoulder pads and a raised studded collar, with black sleeves from his shirt coming out from under. He has extra belts in pairs strapped around his upper-arms and shins and he can be found wearing a Kaiba Corp Duel Disk on his left arm.

History[]

Life at the Orphanage[]

Seto Kaiba is the older brother of young Mokuba Kaiba. At very young ages, both brothers were sent to live at an orphanage since their parents had died. Before their life there, they lived with relatives that did nothing but took advantage of the simple fact that the boys' parents left inheritance money for them, to insure that they were well taken care of. Instead, they used and took everything from the will and dumped Seto and Mokuba off to the orphanage. The very first there there, Seto comforts Mokuba who he found crying. He tells him that no matter what, he'll always be there for him, protecting him, and that he'll be his father from now on. He advises his brother to always keep his guard up, encouraging him not to show any weaknesses in front of others. During their stay, Seto and Mokuba would often play games, including chess, which Seto always won, but still encouraged Mokuba. When Mokuba was bullied by other kids, he'd would stick-up for him and even jumped on another kid to retrieve a toy he'd stolen from him. One day they made a model theme park in the sandpit. Seto said that one day they would open real theme parks around the world, that everyone would want to visit and orphans would be allowed in free of charge.

Plot[]

Adoption[]

Then this is where the former head of the Kaiba Corporation, Gozaburo Kaiba, arrived at the orphanage to perform a publicity stunt. Seto, who was 10 at the time, saw the chance to challenge him to a game of chess, with the stakes being that Gozaburo was to adopt Seto and Mokuba together, should Seto win. Seto won since he had already studied Gozaburo's chess methods. Gozaburo then adopted both brothers.

Son of Gozaburo Kaiba[]

When he adopted Seto, Gozaburo planned to only use his body as a shell for his son, Noa. Noa had been injured in an accident and had his mind uploaded into a virtual world, as he was unable to survive in his real body. Gozaburo also used Seto to motivate Noa to work harder. However Seto proved to be more capable of running Kaiba Corp than Noa. Gozaburo abandoned his idea to transfer Noa's mind into Seto's body and focused his energies in training Seto. Gozaburo forced Seto into a rigorously accelerated school program. When Gozaburo asked Seto what he planned to do with Kaiba Corp after he inherited it, he said that he planned to build a Kaiba Land theme park for underprivileged children. Gozaburo called this boring, but Seto protested that games purify the soul. Gozaburo is not interested as games cannot be used to rule and orders Hobson to confiscate all of Seto and Mokuba's toys, refusing to let Seto touch toys until he knows how to rule. Mokuba hid Seto's Duel Monsters Deck in a hollowed-out book, including a drawing of a "Blue-Eyes White Dragon". He also left a note saying that their new family couldn't take everything away from them. Kaiba stepped out onto a balcony and vowed to get a real "Blue-Eyes White Dragon", one day.

New Mansion Inhabitants[]

Sometime after this, a woman by the name of Diane Tsukino was employed as a maid around the mansion. She shared a close bond with Gozaburo’s adoptive sons as well as him. Sometimes, she’d even bring her children to work with her. Mostly to get them out of the house and all they did was explore around the mansion, one of them being her twin daughters Usagi and Jasmine. Seto and Jasmine got into it all the time. If they weren't arguing with one another, they were wrestling and beating the crap out of each other. Oftentimes causing Diane to have to stop what she was doing to break the two of them up, separate them if necessary. Mokuba, on the other hand, found Seto and Jasmine's antics to be quite entertaining, not only that, he came to see Usagi and Jasmine's mother as he own since he was unable to get to know his real mother. Seto felt somewhat the same towards Diane but he tried not to show it. But he did come to respect the woman seeing as how Gozaburo would only go easy on him and Mokuba when she was around. Eventually, Diane had a child by Seto's stepfather, a daughter she'd named 'Ruka'. She left the child in her father’s care, feeling that she would be properly cared for as well as given a proper education that she was unable to give. The woman did not stick around after she had Ruka, having erased Seto and Mokuba’s memories of her and her family with her powers until they were old enough to understand the reasons behind her actions.

The 'Niece' Ruka Kaiba & Diane Tsukino's Return[]

And so, the child was raised in Domino, Japan under her father’s care but she was raised as his niece so Mokuba and Seto wouldn’t get suspicious. Although Mokuba believed the child to be Gozaburo’s niece, however Seto was not stupid by a long shot. Any chance she got, she would try to get the boys in trouble, finding it entertaining to see them both get punished for something they didn’t even do. Seto has plenty of times called her an annoying little brat and similar to how he and Jasmine used to get into it, he and Ruka also got into arguments, minus the physical fighting. Diane eventually came back into the picture, the both of them regaining their memories of her and the cat was out of the bag that she was in fact Gozaburo’s daughter and not his niece. At that time, she was three years old, Seto was fourteen and Mokuba was eight. They were reunited with Diane in America at a maid and butler’s convention that Ruka’s robot maid Diana Tsukimoto (model name SDCC001) had taken the children to, to get them out of the house for a change.

While Seto could care either way, Mokuba was the one that persuaded the woman to come back with them to Domino for a little while. Of course, Seto only saw it as an opportunity to get Gozaburo off of his back. But he was somewhat upset with Diane that she'd erased his memories of who she and her family was, for he gained them back on his own at the convention by just seeing her, hinting that the affects of Diane's powers were either not strong enough or worked temporarily up to a certain time. Because of her visit back to the mansion, that is where the drama began. It started with Ruka's usual antics but more so towards her mother, than Seto and Mokuba. For she felt the woman didn't give a damn about her and abandoned her on purpose. Seto found it to be a headache listening to the two of them squabble all of the time and he felt that Diane was wasting her time with Ruka. If the child wasn't willing to warm up to her during the length of time she decided to stay, then she wasn't planning on it.

Kaiba Corp Hostile Takeover[]

Besides, Seto had more important things to do, like planning on overthrowing Gozaburo and became the new President of Kaiba Corp to keep Ruka from getting it since she acts so much like her father. Ruthless and cold hearted towards others. Mokuba was aware of what his brother was trying to do but the only Diane, Ruka's personal maid and Seto knew that in Gozaburo's Will it stated that he wasn't giving the company to his daughter but to Seto. Like Noa, Gozaburo overlooked the heirs to his company, steady pursing to push Seto who was fit to run it. Also, there was some secret shares hidden away that apparently belonged to Diane. Both Mokuba and Diane gave their shares of the company to Seto, allowing him to take complete control. Gozaburo’s disappearance followed soon after, many believing him to be dead and having committing suicide to losing the company. A month later, Seto sent Ruka and her robot maid to live with Diane and her family in Tokyo, where they would be graciously provided for and not have to struggle so much. This is also where the bizarre adventures began for the Kaiba brothers.

Refocusing Kaiba Corp's Direction[]

After taking control of Kaiba Corp, Seto shifted its economic interest from the manufacturing of weapons of mass destruction to gaming-oriented equipment. Seto didn't give The Big Five the respect or power they had been expecting when they made the deal to overthrow Gozaburo. Seto started building an amusement park for orphaned and underprivileged children called Kaiba Land, so far only one being built in Domino. He began also working on creating holographic technology to heighten the experience of playing Duel Monsters. Pegasus J. Crawford invited Seto as his special guest to Intercontinental Duel Monsters Tournament in New York City. Kaiba witnesses Pegasus face Bandit Keith Howard in the finals. At the Duel, Pegasus simply sat in front of Keith for a few seconds, then wrote down some instructions on a piece of paper, which he gave to a beginner from the audience to use against Keith. While Sam dueled Keith, Pegasus sat with Seto. He hoped Seto was enjoying the tournament so far, even though it must seem so crude to him, unlike the holographic dueling stations Kaiba Corp is developing. Kaiba inferred that Pegasus must have read Keith's mind in the Duel, so later he began making Duel Disks to combat Pegasus' mind reading strategy. With Duel Disks, players would be able to stand further apart and avoid face-to-face contact, which he hoped would be enough to avoid having his mind read.

Duelist Kingdom[]

Seto became the Duel Monsters World Champion and came into possession of 3 of the 4 'Blue-Eyes White Dragon' cards. It was then he'd overheard Yuugi Motou and his friends talking about a rare card that he suspects maybe the fourth Blue Eyes White Dragon. He later visits Sugoroku Motou's game shop and his suspicions proved to be correct. He tries to trade for the card and buy it, but Sugoroku refuses, since the card is of high sentimental value to him. Still determined and sickened by the old man's attitude, Seto kidnaps him and challenges him to a Duel. He defeats Sugoroku and overwhelms him with the holographic technology used in the Duel. As a prize, he takes his Blue Eyes. He then calls Yuugi over to collect his grandfather. Shortly after Yuugi arrives, Seto tears-up the "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" card in front of him and his friends. Outraged, Yuugi duels Seto as Yami Yuugi. Yami is put in a tight place after Seto Summons all 3 "Blue-Eyes White Dragons", but manages to win by summoning 'Exodia'. After winning, Yami inflicts a Mind Crush on Seto, dispelling his evil half.

After his defeat, Seto drops out of playing Duel Monsters and Pegasus teams-up with The Big Five to try to take-over Kaiba Corp. They sent 2 men to Seto's office to capture him. Seto refused to cooperate, so the henchmen prepare to open fire. However, he knocks them back with a chair and deflects their gunshots with his briefcase. He jumps out the window of his office, leading them to believe he died. However Seto clings onto the side of the cliff and climbs to his safety. In the meantime his Deck is stolen and Mokuba is kidnapped. Later Seto sneaks back into his mansion through a hidden passageway. He enters a hidden computer lab, where he gets an update on what Pegasus has done to Kaiba Corp. He learns that Mokuba is held prisoner on the Duelist Kingdom Island and Pegasus will be given shares of Kaiba Corp once Yuugi is defeated in the Duelist Kingdom tournament. Seto hacks into Pegasus's computer system and finds Yuugi is dueling an imposter Seto Kaiba, who even has the real Kaiba's Deck. Kaiba infects a Blue-Eyes White Dragon summoned by the imposter with a virus, weakening it and consequently preventing Yuugi from losing the duel. Seto flies to the Duelist Kingdom to confront Pegasus. He brings his Duel Disks with him to combat Pegasus' mind reading.

As soon as he arrived on the island, he bumps into Yuugi and his friends. Yuugi returns Seto's Deck to him and suggests that they stick together as they are all going to Pegasus' castle, but of course, Seto declines. Jonouchi Katsuya, whom is disgusted by Seto's attitude, confronts him and the two end up dueling. Seto uses the Duel as a chance to test his Duel Disks. Jonouchi foolishly attacks Seto's monsters with a barrage of weaker ones, until he summons his 'Red-Eyes Black Dragon', which Seto defeats with Blue-Eyes White Dragon and takes out the remainder of Jonouchi's Life Points. Seto cruelly mocks Jonouchi and calls him a loser. But before leaving, he tells the group about Pegasus' Duel with Keith, so Yuugi and Jonouchi know what they're up against. The next day, Kemo finds Seto on the island and points a gun to his head. But he jams the gun with a 'Gyakutenno Megami' card. Seto pulls the gun from Kemo, injuring his hand. Kemo lunges at him, but Seto manages to subdue him and orders him to take them to Mokuba. Kemo takes Seto to Pegasus' dungeons, but triggers a security alarm, calling for backup. Pegasus, who had already known this would happen insists they turn off the alarm and goes to the dungeons to meet Seto himself.

Seto hides on one of the walls and listens-in on a group of Pegasus' guards, who have been unable to find him. The guards decide to go to Mokuba's cell, believing Seto will show up there soon. Seto leaps down and follows them. Once they arrive at the cell, he sneaks-up on them and knocks them out. Seto is briefly reunited with Mokuba, but is confronted by Pegasus before he can release him. Pegasus uses the Millennium Eye to strip Mokuba of his soul, which he traps in a "Soul Prison" card. Pegasus says that Seto must defeat him in a Duel if he wishes to free Mokuba. Seto is willing to duel on the spot, but Pegasus refuses, telling him that he must defeat Yuugi in a Duel, before he can do that. Seto confronts Yuugi outside the castle and imposes a Duel. Initially Yuugi refuses, but he switches to Yami Yuugi and accepts. During the Duel, Kaiba Summons 'Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon', causing problems for Yuugi, but Yuugi fuses it with 'Mammoth Graveyard', causing it to decay and lose ATK each turn.

As Yuugi is about to win, Seto stands up on the edge of the castle, such that if Yuugi makes another attack, he will fall to his death. Although Yami Yuugi tries to attack, Yuugi takes over and calls it off. Seto wins on the next turn, taking 5 of Yuugi's Star Chips. Combined with the 5 Pegasus gave him earlier, enough to enter the castle and face Pegasus. Seto gets ready to duel Pegasus. He insists on using the Duel Disks, but Pegasus isn't too keen. Pegasus accepts under the condition, that Mokuba who is stripped of his soul, holds the Duel Disk for him. Seto refuses to face his brother in such a way and agrees to duel without the Disks. Pegasus defeats Kaiba and also traps his soul in another "Soul Prison" card. When Yuugi defeats Pegasus, as promised Pegasus frees the souls of Seto and Mokuba Kaiba, along with Sugoroku Motou. Seto thanks Yuugi for saving Mokuba and insists that have a fair Duel someday to determine who is the better duelist. He gives Yuugi and his friends a lift home from the island afterwards.

Legendary Heroes[]

Seto prepares to fire The Big Five for trying to take over Kaiba Corp, as well as in payment for the suffering through which they had forced himself and Mokuba. But the Big Five plead with Seto, and give him the complete virtual reality game as a peace offering. Eager to try out the virtual reality game, he refrains from immediately firing them decides to test the system. Mokuba advises against it, harboring doubt. But he assures him otherwise, and continues to experiment with the game. Inside the game, Seto is confronted by a Two-Headed King Rex, which he easily defeats by summoning 'Blue-Eyes White Dragon'. However an Armed Ninja ambushes him, taking him by surprise as he has no recollection of programming it. Seto attempts to attack it with Blue-Eyes, but a Dragon Capture Jar appears and traps the dragon. The Armed Ninja throws a net on Seto, capturing him. Seto is taken to the Castle of Dark Illusions and chained to a pillar, where the Witty Phantom holds him captive. Witty Phantom tells Seto that he is to be sacrificed to summon the Mythic Dragon.

In an attempt to escape, he tries to end the simulation, but learns that that function has been disabled. Mokuba recruits Yuugi and Jonouchi to help him in his efforts to rescue his brother. Together they go to the castle and Mokuba manages to free Seto. Seto summons a second Blue-Eyes, which destroys the phantom. He re-encounters Armed Ninja and the Dragon Capture Jar again, but destroys the jar with Trap Master reclaiming his trapped Blue-Eyes. The 2 Blue-Eyes easily defeat Armed Ninja. Seto has Blue-Eyes White Dragon blast a hole in the floor, allowing him and Mokuba to meet up with Yuugi, Jonouchi and Mai. The Big Five congratulate the players on making it to the final level, but Seto protests that they stopped the Mythic Dragon from being summoned, so they have already beaten the game. However the Big Five have reprogrammed the game making them have to face the Mythic Dragon. The group is sent to a room, where only Dragon-Type monsters are of use. The group has their dragons attack the Mythic Dragon to no avail.

The Mystic Dragon starts to take out the players and their dragons one by one. Mokuba pushes Kaiba out of the way of one of its blasts, saving Seto, by letting himself be taken out. Yuugi's persuasion finally gets through to Seto and fuses his dragons into Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon. Yuugi then fuses it with Black Luster Soldier to form Dragon Master Knight, which defeats the Mythic Dragon. Seto and Yuugi wake-up in the courtyard of the Adina's palace. The crowds cheer for them for defeating the Mythic Dragon. Adina turns into Mystical Elf and revives Jonouchi, Mai, Mokuba and Iru. Seto and his rescuers return to the real world, while the Big Five are left trapped in the virtual world. After all of this, things seemed to cool down and everyone was able to get back to living their lives before all the chaos happened. Even the kidnap attempts on Mokuba had slowed down as they appeared to frequent for a while with Seto's enemies trying to find ways to bring him down. However, it wasn't the case strange occurrences began happening around Domino. Instead of targeting specific people, everyone was being targeted.

Arrival of the Sailor Senshi[]

People were getting randomly harmed in their homes and on the street which made Yuugi call Jasmine Tsukino (his girlfriend at the apparent time) and the others to come down to where he lived because he kept hearing that people were randomly getting attacked by something unknown which of course, he didn’t know what it was. So, upon agreeing, Jasmine, her twin sister Usagi along with their good friends and Senshi as well, Rei Hino and Ami Mizuno, Ryoko Kajimotou (Jasmine and Usagi's cousin) went as well to be a tag along all went to Domino City. Even after everything that happened to him, Seto still refers to happenings such as these to be nothing but illusions or hocus-pocus mind tricks as he still doesn't believe in a lot of things that others claim to believe in. Some things, he has an exception for, but everything else, no. Despite his desire to defeat Yuugi in a fair duel, he tries to as much as he cannot to get involved with his rival's affairs, but yet somehow he tends to get pulled into them anyway.

Especially when some of his friends from Tokyo came from a visit, particularly one of them, Ami Mizuno, who shared an interest in him but he was always too busy to do anything with her much less care that she even existed sometimes. Though he did acknowledge her kindness, he never directly said that he’d shown any interest in her. Then after awhile he hired another one of Yuugi’s friends or rather ‘girlfriend’ Jasmine Tsukino as his personal secretary (and she at the time had no memories of him as he did of her). The girl immediately showed dislike towards him because of the fact that he’d always insulted Yuugi and his friends constantly or was never nice to them. Or at least he didn’t act like he was ever nice. He’d found out later that both Jasmine and Ami were friends but went out with Ami for a while until things turned for the worst. Upon being treated for his random and somewhat odd act of kindness towards Jasmine in wanting to help her friends Carmen and Brittany make it in the music business, he was taken to a local bar for fun. That night got out of control between them to where both he and Jasmine slept with each other while under the influence of alcohol. Of course, Jasmine was too drunk to remember that they’d done anything together but Seto remembered full well thus his reason for him avoiding her and telling her two weeks later after it had happened.

Senshi vs Senshi[]

Jasmine, devastated and Ami, furious, both girls went off the deep end because of what had happened. Ami turned evil, which is how Seto found out about her and the others being ‘Sailor Senshi’. Though later, Jasmine turned evil to save Ami and keep Seto away from the both of them. But in the end, he’d ended up being possessed by an evil spirit by the name of ‘Vayne’ that was originally the one going around trying to take ‘star seeds’ away from people. When it came down to the battle to save both girls, Ami survived but Jasmine did not for with his bare hands, he’d stabbed Jasmine, right through the heart, killing her. Sure, she was reborn but she was reborn with no memories of Yuugi, Seto, and what all she’d done while she was evil. Seto blamed himself for what happened but mostly for what he’d done to Jasmine and pretty much ignored Ami a lot of the time which the girl still had feelings for him even though he’d said he was not in love with her but in love with Jasmine. He’d tried to make amends for what he’d done when she’d started to regain parts of her memory back but all she did was yell at him, telling him to stay out of her life as well as stay away from Ami.

Car Crash & Lost Memories[]

Both said their final good byes to each other in Tokyo but Seto had came back to check on her for he said he’d never move on no matter how much she wanted him to. He would always come back for her. Like before, she yelled at him again, telling him to go away when he was trying to help her. Jasmine didn’t want help from him or anyone else. She kept saying she wanted to be alone and Seto didn’t understand why she wouldn’t let him help her. Finally he gave up, and when trying to leave Tokyo, he had got into a serious car crash. He survived the accident but lost some of his memory along with it. He remembers very little but he did remember who Ami was which when he could be released to the hospital, she offered to help him get better and watch Mokuba for him. But Mokuba went missing, leaving Seto furious about the way his brother left the way he did. Ami suggested she’d go down to Tokyo and get him. He agreed but also said that if she wasn’t back within at least a week he was going to come down there himself.

And eventually he did, when Mokuba refused to come back home and upon returning to Tokyo to retrieve him, he'd ended up seeing Jasmine again, which made him remember not only her, but also everything that'd happened. Which during that time, she'd fallen in love with someone else, and as for Ami, he felt that the girl had taken advantage of the fact that he didn't know who Jasmine was and instead of telling him the truth, she allowed him to believe that the both of them were dating when they weren't. No matter how cold he was towards her, Ami steady continued to pursue him effortlessly, much to his dismay. Seto eventually stopped pursing Jasmine when they eventually talked things out, coming to terms with their feelings for one another. Although she stated she had some small feelings for him, those were now long gone, for she was moving on with her life with Hideki. He accepted this and the two of them decided to remain friends. After that, he was no longer involved in her or her friends’ affairs.

Moving On[]

Instead, he went back to focusing his attention on his company, making sure that everything is up to par as well as making quite a few business deals over the course of the year that he has spent in America while his brother is left to manage for the Kaiba Corp branch that was set up in Tokyo as well as trying to juggle school at the same time as well. He is indifferent when it comes to the subject of Mokuba's personal life as he hasn't outwardly spoken in words how he truly feels on the concept of his brother dating Mitsu Sanyu or if he ever will discuss it for that matter. He is back in town for a little while but will be leaving for New York, since there is a toy company there that he wants to partner with as well as a dueling competition coming up soon.

Relationships[]

Jasmine Tsukino[]

Even though Jasmine's memories of Seto were not returned, because he had a soft spot for her mother, he decided to give her a job to help out since she wanted to work so bad. Although, he had not expected to fall in love with her. At least not intentionally knowing that she was already in a relationship with his rival, Yuugi Motou. The night they shared was while they were under the influence of alcohol and while Jasmine didn't remember the night, Seto had because he was, well used to drinking quite often so the affects of alcohol in his system didn't really bother him all that much. However, he did eventually tell Jasmine what'd happened between them and she didn't take it lightly. In fact, she believed that he lied to her by not telling her the truth beforehand, causing her to feel guilty about her actions and question her relationship with Yuugi. Despite many attempts to help her, she declined his help and kept yelling at him to stay away from her and especially Ami Mizuno, the girl he was dating at the time which also happened to be the friend of Jasmine. Upon going to Tokyo, he'd gotten in a series car crash and lost his memories of Jasmine temporarily though gained them back when he saw her again. From that point on, he heeded her wishes and stayed away from her but the two reconciled their differences and he begrudging became friends with her and promised to keep her identity as a Sailor Senshi a secret.

Ami Mizuno[]

Friend of Jasmine and a Sailor Senshi as well. She had a crush on Seto and often followed him around because they shared the same similar intellectual minds, thinking that they had a lot of things in common. However, they did not and for awhile he kept turning her down to go out with her but did acknowledge her presence any time she came to his office to visit him. Eventually, he did cave in to date her but only out of pity which he considerably regretted. Upon hearing about the night he had with Jasmine, Ami had blown everything out of porportion and started purposely targeting Jasmine to a point where she eventually turned evil. Though she was turned back to her normal self, she continued to pursue him, even though he told her plenty of times that he didn't have any feelings for her at all and never did and that he loved Jasmine. Which didn't help things any, especially when he got into that car accident and he didn't remember Jasmine so Ami too advantage of that fact and had him believing that the two of them were 'still' dating when they weren't. When his memories returned, he told Ami to stay way from him and Mokuba, for awhile hating her because of her selfish actions towards him and her own friends. Eventually, he decided to make peace with her by pretending to tell her that he decided to stop pursuing Jasmine because he was now in love with her but Ami turned down his confession and said that while it was finally nice to hear him say that to her, she thanks him for showing her what it was like to be in love but her heart belonged to someone else, that someone else being Raito Yagami. With this, he accepted her answer and the two have parted ways.

Diane Tsukino[]

Diane is the mother of Ruka Kaiba, Jasmine Tsukino and Usagi Tsukino as well as a former maid in the Kaiba Mansion back in Domino, Japan. She was the only one who saw a softer side of Gozaburo Kaiba, his stepfather and his harsh actions and academic training towards Seto had been toned down because he'd fallen in love with this woman who saw him for him and could've cared less that he had money. When she was around, she often treated Seto and his brother as if they were her own children. She was especially affectionate towards Seto whom she knew was going through a hard time with his stepfather and often made promises to him that she never broke to get Gozaburo off his back. This was much appreciated since a lot of the things that Gozaburo used to motivate Seto were considered illegal and child abuse by normal standards. In the beginning, he didn't care too much for any of the mansion staff and often used them to his heart's content to just do chores for him, acting very much like a spoiled brat, however, this side of him changed with Diane came along. He was distrusting of her at first and thought she had ulterior motives for being nice to him and Mokuba but these feelings were dismissed and he came to open up to her more and saw her as more of a surrogate mother since his own mother had died after giving birth to Mokuba. When she left to return to her hometown in Tokyo, his memories of her and her family were erased due to her using her powers to do so, however, upon seeing her at a maid and butlers convention, Seto's memories of her returned on their own while Mokuba's had to be given back to him. He was upset and angry with her for leaving and erasing his memories but over time, he'd grown to forgive her for it and to this day still sees her as a really good person who doesn't deserve all the crap she'd gone through raising her own ungrateful children except for maybe a couple of them.

Powers & Abilities[]

Seto has, in a sense, shown abilities in being able to have occasional premonitions of his past incarnate Priest Seto, although he usually dismisses it, feeling that it's all part of some trick to get him to believe that he had a past life as an ancient Egyptian Priest. These premonitions only tend to happen when he comes into contact with the millennium items or someone who has one, so to speak. Another thing, during the whole situation involving Ami and her friends, he was turned evil by the Sailor Senshi's new enemy and displayed being able to use dark shadow powers. Of course, that was only a one time thing for once he was freed from the control of the evil being that took over his body, Seto went back to basically being a normal human being that he once was and still is.

  • Priest Seto's strong romantic feelings for Kisara are the main basis behind Kaiba's modern-day unusually strong obsession with the Blue-Eyes White Dragon card. These feelings for Kisara had come when Princess Atinako had left his life and returned to her home ... against her will.
  • In the past, Priest Seto and Princess Atinako loved one another but the only way for her to stay there with him, she'd been forced to marry his cousin, Pharaoh Atem.
  • There will always be a part of Seto that will still care about Jasmine but it will not go any further than worry or showing signs of concern for her and her family.
  • Seto doesn't really interact much with the other Sailor Senshi considering his past transgressions involving Ami and Jasmine, he is not in good faith with them, especially Minako Aino.
  • Chances are, Seto will fall in love again but right now, no because he's going on that 'loves nothing more than crap' stage right now.
